I haven't actually played WoW in over a year at this point, except for some time put in for Cataclysm since it launched. I had figured that Cataclysm would rekindle the fire, but it just has not. I am done with MMO games.
Honestly, I would love to keep working on SBF to implement the stuff I want to - it's really fun to work on this code, and nice to know that so many people use and appreciate it. Even so, honesty compels me to admit that even though I completley understand the need for the changes to clicking off buffs, I hate fighting against the mechanism they chose to implement to do so. That has certainly sapped a lot of desire to work on SBF. Far more than that, though, given the other demands on my time these days, and without actually playing the game, it's really hard to justify allocating time to it (and paying the costs of keeping this site running.)
And so, this is my goodbye to all of you. It's been a heck of a ride since 2005, and I am very proud of how far SBF has come. As a whole, you're the best bunch of users I could have hoped for. For all the idiotic questions I got that can be answered by reading for five seconds, many of you sent me bug fixes, feature ideas, well thought-out discussion on direction for the addon, and more. Thank you!
What's to become of SBF? I would prefer not to have an "SBF Reloaded" sort of nonsense going around, but I don't much care I suppose. If anyone wants to take on official ownership of the addon, drop me a line - satrina@evilempireguild.org - before I deactivate it after a couple of weeks.
This site and its domain name is paid up for some months yet, so it won't disappear anytime really soon.
What is Satrina Buff Frames?
Satrina Buff Frames (SBF) is an addon that replaces the buff frames in the default WoW UI. The default view is one single vertical row of 20 buffs, one single vertical row of 16 debuffs. These appear down the right side of your screen, under the minimap.
SBF is complex
Complex, but pretty simple. If you read the stuff here, at least. Help yourself - take a few minutes to read through.
What does it look like?
Whatever you want it to look like. Pretty much everything is moveable and configurable to let your buffs look as you want them to. Here's an example layout
A note on terminology
In the interest of less confusion, I'll just use "effect" to mean "buff or debuff". "Aura" still means an effect that has no expiration time. I'm in process of changing the text of the site, so bear with me.

And more! The menu to the left leads to sections explaining care and maintenance of your SBF. Enjoy!
